Theatre Reviews by Phyl Romeril for Local

Wadham Players' production of Rattigan's
Separate Tables was highly commendable, given the inadequate
facilities at Canterbury Road.
The needle-sharp exchanges were skillfully
handled in a smooth, polished presentation, with Elaine Elliott
confident as the hotel manageress.
Richard Holliss interpreted the boorish
John Malcolm in his own particular style. A little heavier
playing in his drunk scene would have further enhanced an
otherwise faultless performance.
In the second playlet Ron Atkinson as the
fake Major Pollock gave one of his most satisfying performances.
Gerri Watts neared perfection in style and
deportment and Christine Holliss was on her mettle as Mrs
Railton-Bell. Diana Barber bravely tackled Sybil, and Keith
Cummings was an impassive ex-schoolmaster.
Ann Housden as an eccentric Miss Meacham
and Barbara Humm as Lady Matheson rounded off the merry throng.
We laughed with and not at the maids of
June Gray and Kathy Hutton.
Michael Michael directed and produced and
stage manager Lynn Ramsey arranged props to perfection down to
the smallest detail. Costumes and set also deserved
appreciation.
