One wedding and a funeral
Forget Four Weddings and a Funeral and
prepare yourselves for Wadham Players' answer to the big screen
hit.
Their latest production Celebration could
well be subtitled 'One Wedding and a Funeral', for the comedy by
Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall has the first act set as
preparations for the wedding of Christine and Bernard get under
way and the second act sees the family reunited for a funeral.
With the bride's parents Rhoda and Edgar
squabbling over the catering. Uncle Frank's moving transport
arrangements and Arthur almost permanently sloshed, it proves to
be an hilarious first half.
And when the deceased's mistress May turns
up in the second act, plus his drunken army pal things become
very lively.
This extremely funny play will be performed
at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Hermon Hill, Wanstead, from
Thursday September 29 to Saturday October 1
