Tutors

LUCY ASHTON – Principal
Lucy trained for three years at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London and gained a diploma in Acting and Musical Theatre.

She has worked professionally as an actress for the last ten years and roles have included, Landlady in ‘Two’ at The Kings Head Theatre, Islington, Eliza Dootlittle in ‘Pymalion’ at Minack Theatre, Bill in ‘Rupert bear’ at Liverpool Playhouse and Bath Theatre Royal, Cherry in ‘September Tide’ at Harlow Playhouse, and recently Rita in ‘Educating Rita’ at Thameside Theatre, Grays.

Lucy currently teaches Speech and drama at St Albans High School for Girls and at Sherrardswood School, Welwyn.

TheatreSkool was opened by Lucy in 2003 in East London and Hertfordshire. She now tutors only at  the Ware school and teaches the senior and speech and communication classes.

 

RACHEL SHADBOLT
Rachel has been teaching at TheatreSkool for 3 years. She started out assisting and is now the Junior drama tutor.

During the week, Rachel teaches pre school children at Kingsmead School, Hertford and supervises the after school clubs at Oaklands Primary School, Woolmer Green.
In the school holidays you will find Rachel busy working at various playschemes for children in Hertfordshire.
She has previously taught drama in many of Hertfordshire’s primary schools.

Rachel also enjoys acting and she has appeared in many local productions including, Blood Brothers, Accidental Death of a Salesman and Billy Liar.

Rachel is currently studying for an NVQ in childcare.

 

ELAINE ELLIOTT
Visiting Tutor
Elaine is a qualified teacher and an experienced drama examiner. She has taught in schools in East London and has led drama workshops and classes for all ages. An accomplished singer and actor, she has performed in plays and musicals in fringe venues all over the country. She has written and directed a number of plays for children and young people, many with her own, original music. She very much enjoys her occasional visits to work with the enthusiastic, talented members of Theatreskool
